The boiler won't start or there's no hot water

Heating, gas and boilers

The branch with the most call-outs, and the only one with a season still ahead: September and October, when the first cold snap arrives and everyone discovers at once that their boiler won't fire.

Why they call

  • The boiler fires up and shuts down on its own.
  • Cold water while the boiler is running.
  • Radiators cold at the bottom, hot at the top.
  • An error code on the display.
  • Pressure dropping every week.

What to do until the installer arrives

  1. If you smell gas, don't touch any switch: ventilate, close the main valve and leave.
  2. With a gas smell, call the emergency number or your distributor before the installer.
  3. With no gas smell, note the error code: it shortens the diagnosis.
  4. Don't top up the pressure twice: if it drops again, the circuit is leaking.

With fire, a strong gas smell, accessible live cable or flooding near electrics, call the emergency services before any installer.

What the job includes

  • On-site diagnosis with the appliance running.
  • Sealing, pressure and flue check.
  • Written quote before replacing any part.
  • Certificate of works where regulation requires it.

How the quote is worked out

  • Call-out to your area.
  • Labour in blocks, not by the loose minute.
  • Parts and materials, itemised separately.
  • Night or public-holiday surcharge, where it applies.

Frequently asked

Repair or replace the boiler?

It depends on age, parts availability and how many faults it has had. That decision is made with the appliance in front of you, not over the phone.

Does gas work require a registered company?

Yes. Gas installations, and heating and hot water under the building services regulation, require a registered company. Always ask for the registration number and check it.

When should the service be done?

Before the first cold snap. September and October concentrate both the breakdowns and the full diaries.

Who built this site

Rauda isn't real. This website is, and I built it.

I'm Fernando Gómez de la Mata and I design and build websites for small businesses. Rauda is a made-up company I use as a sample: everything here — the emergency call above the fold, the coverage areas, the availability panel, the credentials record — is what I'd propose to a real installer.

If something has broken at home

Rauda is not coming out to you: it isn't a company, it has no engineers and it provides no service. Find an installer in your area and check their registration number before you let anyone into your home.

If you run an installation business

Then you're in the right place. This site is an example of what I can build for you, with your brand, your real coverage and your verified registration details. Message me and let's talk.

Message me on WhatsApp

WhatsApp opens with a message already written. You decide whether to send it.

The only working contact on this demo is my WhatsApp: +34 619 202 451.

On a real site, this button dials straight away

Here it doesn't. The number you can see — 400 12 34 56 — sits in a range the Spanish numbering plan leaves unallocated: it belongs to nobody and rings nowhere. On your business's site, this button opens the phone with your number already in place, so the customer never has to copy or hunt for it.

It's the only button that matters in an emergency. That's why it sits in the header, fixed on mobile, and repeated at the end of every page.
